We just got back from a whirlwind family tour on the East Coast whose primary goal was to attend a wedding, came back late Thursday night, worked Friday, attended another wedding Saturday, and this morning, poor M had to leave for a business trip. So, we've been busy but M has been especially busy but not so busy that he didn't have time to play a You Tube video before we left for the airport. Of course, the song got stuck in my head.

Her voice reminds me of Erin McKeown but with a pop 70's feel. It bothered me a little that I could tell she was not actually singing while dancing - although what performer does that anymore? - but the dancing was fun.

My iPod was on random at work and surprised me with a cover that I had not expected.

Here is the original Doris Day version, which is spirited and a little defiant yet cheery:

And this is the cover that I heard, which has a slightly different tone coming from a male voice but was more amusing than anything else and it made me laugh at work once I realized what I was listening to.

Sometimes, I wish the radio had the same intuitive randomness as the iPod. My fevered, oxygen-starved brain plaintively requested Blossom Dearie, but the DJ thwarted me with the Violent Femmes.

I was a little surprised that Blossom Dearie came to mind but these moods surface sometimes.
