[this is good]

Stop, you're making me ferociously hungry! LOL

Never heard of Bistek or sorrowful rice, naan. Really curious. I don't beleive I've ever had Filipino cuisine. Neopolitan cookies, is that like neopolitan ice cream? (This is why I watch food network, to reduce my cluelesness....)

Congrats on your new kitchen. I never really enjoyed eating out and I find it's much more economical and soul satisfying to make meals at home. Civilized...yes. I feel that making meals is ritualistic, important. ;)

It's pretty hard to find good Filipino food in a restaurant. Most of the places that I see are usually cafeteria style (I don't think Filipino food lends itself well to restaurant settings) and really most Filipinos seem to like their dishes the way their parents made it. :) In fact, I can't make the dishes like my parents do although I'm trying to learn!

We're so happy to be able to cook again! We were really scared about spending the money - especially since they demo'd it right when the DOW plunged disastrously - but I think it's going to be worth every penny since it is more economical, much healthier than eating out, will be better for us and the baby when she arrives, and we're just so much happier.

Yes, when is she due? Do you have a name for her yet? (Forgive me if these questions are too personal lol). I bet she will grow up to be one heck of a cook!

No worries. We're keeping the name a secret since that's both the cultural tradition in my husband's family (although they keep asking for it) and also for the more practical reason of not being swayed by family reactions to the name. She's due in mid January although at this point, the doctor said she could come any day now and would be considered full term.

Yep, I hope she grows to appreciate good food. :)

Very cool. All the best wishes for you and your family - good vibes, stay safe.

;)

You too! Happy Holidays!
